Springville City is asking its residents to conserve water this summer.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">If every resident cut their water use inside and outside of the home,   billions of gallons of water could be saved. Below are some ways that you can help to conserve water this season:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"LEFT\">WATER CONSERVATION TIPS<\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Avoid watering lawns between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Test soil moisture with a soil probe or screwdriver before you water. If the soil is moist,   don\u2019t water!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Turn off sprinklers during a rain storm or consider installing an automatic rain shutoff device on your sprinkler system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Aerate your lawn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Avoid watering your lawn on windy days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Watch for broken sprinklers and fix them quickly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Raise mower height to leave grass longer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Fix leaky plumbing fixtures,   faucets and appliances in the house.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Plant drought resistant trees and plants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Clean cement with a broom instead of a hose.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Put a pitcher of water in the fridge instead of letting the tap run.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Turn the water off when you are brushing your teeth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Take short showers (five minutes or less).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Show children how to turn off the faucets completely after each use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Ensure the toilet flapper valve doesn\u2019t stay open after flushing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\" align=\"LEFT\">\u2022 Only do full loads of laundry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">\u2022 Fix leaky plumbing fixtures,   faucets and appliances in the house.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">To find out more ways you can conserve water,   please visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slowtheflow.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">slowtheflow.org<\/a> or\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/extension.usu.edu\/utah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extension.usu.edu\/utah<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.springvilleutah.gov\/public-works\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2012\/02\/water-conservation-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download flier<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Springville Public Works Water Conserve Water Water Conservation Water is essential to our everyday lives and our supplies are limited.
