    Springville High School Primary Routes Access Plan<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    Please review this high school access map to determine the best route available during specific road closures as school gets back in session next week.<\/p>\n

    The solid orange lines are the primary routes available until the 800 S 800 E intersection is open.<\/p>\n

    The section labeled “various road closures” with a dotted line indicates that Canyon road will be closed in sections, allowing for Houtz to be used or 1470 E depending on the sections of closure.<\/p>\n

    Please share this map with anyone that needs to access the high school or bypass the closures to get out to locations further away.<\/p>\n

    Canyon Road Waterline Replacement Project<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
    \n

    This project involves completion of Canyon Rd and 620 S intersection improvements including undersized and fire deficient waterlines from 1700 E to 400 S. This work completes a combination of the CIP and master planned projects for this area. New water service and fire hydrants will be replaced with any new waterlines. Work will begin the week of July 20th and run through the end of October.<\/p>\n

    This project will require closures of Canyon Rd. and Water Service interruptions.<\/p>\n

    800 E 800 S Intersection Improvement Project<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
    \n

    This project is part of our city-wide transportation master plan. The intersection improvement will create a new 5-leg roundabout combining the 2 legs for 900 S, 2 legs of 800 E, and 800 S. We are anticipating start of work and closures as soon as July 1st. The work and closures are anticipated through the end of September. The tentative goal is to have the intersection open to traffic by August 18th for the start of school if possible. <\/p>\n

    Road Maintenance – Micro Surfacing: May – July 2026<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
    \n

    Starting in the beginning of May, Geneva Rock will be working on behalf of Springville City to Micro Surface several City streets.<\/p>\n

    Micro Surfacing is a protective pavement layer which extends the life of the road. Micro Surfacing is a cost-effective method to renew the road surface, while also sealing cracks and correcting other irregularities. Micro Surfacing creates a protective layer which preserves the underlying structure of the road, and prevents the need for more expensive repairs in the future.<\/p>\n

    We have been coordinating with art city days, garbage and recycling days, other construction projects, paint stripers, traffic control plans, bus routes ETC. There is no way to avoid all conflicts, but we are trying our best. Please be patient during this time. We know this will be an inconvenience, but the end results will preserve our existing asphalt, provide longevity to our roads and refresh the look of our community.<\/p>\n

    UDOT 1600 S Widening Project<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n
    \n

    The UDOT 1600 South widening project is moving forward, with an anticipated completion date at the end of 2026. Various subcontractors working for UDOT are busily engaged in the installation (and or relocation) of critical utilities. Canyon Pipeline (working for Enbridge Gas Company) is installing a natural gas pipeline along the 1600 South corridor, which will cross under the Union Pacific Railroad’s (UPRR’s) Sharp Mainline tracks near 1500 West.<\/p>\n

    A UPRR crossing permit (with a specific timeline window for construction) has been acquired by Canyon Pipeline, allowing a construction bore under the Sharp Mainline tracks.<\/p>\n

    1600 S will be closed to through traffic January 19th – February 2nd.<\/h3>\n

    The pipeline is to be bored under the railroad tracks, which will require large bore pits on either side of the railroad tracks directly centered within the roadway surface. The bore pit location is constrained by other existing underground and above ground utilities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

    UDOT has contacted businesses that are affected by the roadway closure and will have information posted on their (UDOT’s) website. Updates will also be posted on the Springville City social media pages.<\/p>\n

    Google Fiber<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    Will every resident be able to access Google Fiber?<\/h3>\n

    Google Fiber is working with Springville City, private homeowner associations and property managers, to reach and access as many households as possible.<\/p>\n

    When will they start and how long will it take to complete installation?<\/h3>\n

    Google Fiber expects to start construction this spring and aims to finish the initial build in about 18 months.<\/p>\n

    Will the installation be disruptive to commuter\/neighborhood traffic?<\/h3>\n

    Google Fiber will construct its network within city right-of-way easements, in accordance with all permitting protocol. Springville residents can expect to see construction crews in the roadways and adjacent softscapes\/yards, that are part of the city\u2019s right-of-way easements. Crews will notify residents and businesses ahead of construction staging by way of door hangers, street signage, cones and other safety and informational efforts.<\/p>\n
