The Art City Days Medallion Treasure Hunt is now over. Congratulations to the winner, and thank you to everyone who joined the search. The medallion has been recovered, so there is no need to continue looking.
But don’t stop hunting yet! The Daily Mini Treasure Hunt continues through Friday, with a new clue and prize available each day. Be sure to scroll down for today’s clue and keep the fun going!
Each day at 9 am a single clue will be revealed. Each clue gets you closer to finding a special Springville medallion hidden somewhere in the community.
Each clue is rather cryptic so it requires deductive thinking to put each part together and find the medallion. In past years the medallion has been found out in the open, but sometimes it has been in a public building. There will be a message on the medallion giving specific instructions to the person or group that finds it, which could result in winning valuable prizes including a $50 gift card and a basket of Springville Swag.
Clues are released one at a time Monday through Thursday mornings at 9 am, and a final clue if necessary may be given on Friday if the medallion hasn’t been found by then. Be aware that only 1 person knows where the medallion is hidden, so asking questions will not be helpful. Be very specific in your search as you get closer to finding the medallion, but most of all have fun!
Seekers, a hidden prize awaits.
Our hub holds no secrets.
Seek respectfully where thinkers unite. They convene with deference, yet all works out right.
The medallion has been found!
The medallion has been found!
Returning for the second year is the Daily Mini Treasure Hunt. This hunt is a smaller, easier-to-solve riddle meant to be solvable in just a couple hours.
There will be a Daily Mini Treasure Hunt riddle also released each morning during the Medallion Treasure Hunt. To participate in the Mini Treasure Hunt, solve the clue, find the treasure and take your photo with it. Then return it to its hiding place so that others can find it all day or all week long.
Then, submit your photo via email to artcitydays@springvilleutah.gov. The first individual or group that submits a photo each day will be awarded a prize.
Another prize will be awarded to the individual or groups that submits photos of all five treasures in the fastest total cumulative time.
Other prizes may be awarded to individuals or groups who submit evidence of all five treasures, through random selection, so don’t give up! Happy hunting to all you treasure seekers out there!
How to find today’s hidden treasure?
Seek out the place where old memories measure.
Where creations are displayed for wandering eyes,
And from Elementary to High School in its time gone by.
Metal once living now stands still in might,
A creature of gears with a prehistoric bite.
Near pathways where sculptures silently stay,
And curious minds often wander and play.
A bench gently swings while the others stand near,
Inviting long talks and good moments to hear.
Close by the entrance where effigies reside,
Your next hidden clue will no longer hide.
Not all dogs here wander on four living feet,
One guards the pathway and never will greet.
Yellow with spots both playful and bright,
It waits near the garden from morning till night.
So look near the hound that no leash ever led,
And there your hidden treasure shall rest instead.

How to find today’s hidden prize?
Seek out the place where competitive spirits rise.
Where springy green ground softens each stride,
And challengers test both their strength and their pride.
Bars and bright stations are scattered about,
For climbing and training and working it out.
Nearby racers gather to test all their speed,
While glowing clocks measure each second they need.
Cool waters shimmer not far from the way,
And paddles keep flying through games all the day.
This unique park calls athletes to play,
Where balance and motion can carry the day.
Above hangs a shelter of colors so bold,
Blue, black, and yellow stretched high overhead.
A course for the nimble twists, climbs, and bends,
Where quick feet and focus help conquer the ends.
But don’t search the turf or the places to race,
The treasure is hiding in one simple place.
Look close at the marker that tells of this ground,
And there your hidden treasure shall soon be found.

How to find today’s hidden gold?
Seek the new grounds where old memories fold.
A long-awaited home now rises with pride,
While the faithful old halls have stepped aside.
Many will gather where fresh pathways wind,
With brand-new views stretching far behind.
Nearby are courts where paddles will sing,
While an open-air stage still waits in the wings.
Water from a cactus? Who knew this could be,
Near a path with morning shadows from nearby trees.
A quiet pond also rests beside the trail,
Where ducks drift slowly and grasses sway pale.
Bright fields stand ready for battles and play,
For soccer by night or football by day.
Sixteen tall beacons stand shining in rows,
But two more rest where the concrete column grows.
Great cylinders anchor those towers so high,
Unlike the others that more shortly lie.
So search where the stronger foundations remain,
And one hidden treasure you soon shall obtain.

How to find today’s hidden gem?
Seek the park in the hollow and follow the bend.
A winding path circles the grounds just right,
While waters from Hobble Creek whisper just out of sight.
Where laughter erupts and children all play,
A rolling challenge might speed you away.
Small woodland runners cling onto the tread,
Flying squirrels make flying feet instead.
And three towering chutes that stand side by side,
Each with its own peculiar guide.
One bears the markings of timber and grain,
One hints at machines that whir and sustain.
Stones stacked together will point out the way,
To the twisting path where shadows may stay.
Follow the spiral that curls to the ground,
And search where the soft broken wood can be found.
Quick! Snap a picture, then re-hide this prize.

How to find today’s hidden treasure?
Follow the sunlight and one golden ray’s measure.
A park where rainwater gathers when storm clouds appear,
And tall quiet trees keep their watch drawing near.
A curious crossing runs part path, part wing,
With a pale weathered fence stretched over the spring.
Sweet lilac perfume drifts light through the air,
As blossoms of silk trees sway gently there.
A pond slowly fades as the warm season does grow,
Leaving traces of water and cattails in their rows.
Nearby crawls a leaf muncher once covered in letters,
Though time turned its details to a blue bubble pattern.
Still hungry it stretches with mouth open wide,
As though waiting for grilled dogs the children once tried.
Go near the gathering place that closest can be,
To the caterpillar stretching beneath the tree,
Search near where the charcoal could lay,
And your hidden treasure will finish the day.
