Community Emergency Response Team

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program trains participants to prepare for and respond to emergencies when professional help may not be immediately available.

CERT training provides practical skills that can help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your community during an emergency or disaster.

Who Can Join?

The course is open to adults and youth ages 14 through 17.

  • Participants ages 14 and 15 must attend with adult supervision.
  • Participants ages 16 and 17 must provide a signed waiver.

Training Details

To earn your CERT certificate, you must complete both the online and in-person portions of the training.

Online Portion

  • Free to complete
  • Approximately 12 hours of training
  • Register at onlinecert.org
  • Complete as much as possible before the in-person classes begin

In-Person Classes

Dates: Thursdays, September 3, 10, 17 and 24, and October 1 and 8

Time: 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Please arrive by 6:00 p.m. for check-in.

Mock Disaster Simulation

Saturday, October 10
8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Participants will test their new skills in a hands-on disaster exercise.

Register for the Course

The course costs $25 per person and includes an official CERT starter kit.

You may pay online before the course or pay in person at the first class.

Payment is not required before the first class.

Refresher Training

If you have completed CERT training in the past and would like a refresher, you may attend the course free of charge.
