December was busy. We broke ground on upgrades to the Springville Arts Park Amphitheatre. Through generous donations from McWane Ductile ($1M), Utah County Tourism ($750K) and Springville PAR ($600K), we will have a new permanent stage cover, new seating, new sound and light systems and upgraded facilities and restrooms. This is scheduled to be completed before Art City Days 2026 (fingers crossed).
At the annual Winter Festival, we welcomed Santa, toasted s’mores and drank hot chocolate. The music, entertainment, and food along with holiday gift booths were exceptional. Be sure to drive down Main Street and enjoy the lights at the Civic Center Park and along Main Street (Center Street to 400 South). They are stunning. Special thanks to all our city staff and volunteers that work hard to make these events possible.
As your city’s legislative body and staff, we are already working on next fiscal year’s budget. This budget is based on maintaining current service levels and takes into consideration proposed changes as well as inflationary adjustments. Service levels play a large role in understanding how much money is required by each department for day-to-day operations and planned future expenses (such as utility infrastructure, facilities, and equipment replacement, etc.). Our directors work hard to stay within these approved budgets for the city.

I want to wish all a happy and prosperous New Year.
