Registration is open for Air Dry Clay, Bagpipes Beginner, Board Games, Fall/Halloween Crafts, and Robotics (Limited spaces available per class).
Air Dry Clay Class:
Could your child be a sculptor at heart? Find out in this six week air-dry clay sculpting class! With unique prompts each week, your child will learn how to make several different types of sculptures. All materials provided, your kid will just need to bring their creativity!! Space is limited to 10 per class so sign up now.
- Total Six Weeks on Tuesdays: Sept 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, 13, 20
- Age 6 to 8 years at 4:30 to 5:30 PM
- Age 9 to 12 years at 5:45 to 6:45 PM
- Fee is $40, Max 10 people per class
- Held at the Summit Center (165 S 700 E)
Bagpipes Beginner Class:
Now is a great time to learn the bagpipes! In this 10-week beginners’ course, you will learn the fundamentals, rhythms and nuances of bagpipe fingering and execution on a practice chanter, which is the first step to playing the bagpipes! Easy to follow step by step instruction is key to having a good time playing and enjoying the wonderful music of the Highlands!
*Some musical background is helpful but not required to take this beginning bagpipes course.
- Ages 14 and up, Max 15 people per class
- Total 10 weeks on Tuesdays, 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM – Sept 15 through Nov 17
- $50 Fee / plus $60 for a Chanter if needed (to learn finger placement over holes for each note)
- Held at the Summit Center (165 S 700 E) Timpanogos Room.
Board Games:
Board games can help build brain power, teach social rules, and improve focus. Kids get to learn and play board games together for 1.5 hours each week. All necessary class materials are included. Classes will be held on Thursday afternoons for a total of six weeks.
- Age 9 to 12 years at 5:30 to 7:00 PM
- Total Six Weeks on Thursdays: Sept 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 22, 29 (No class Oct 15th)
- Cost is $45
- Max 24 participants per class
- Held at the Summit Center (165 S 700 E)
Fall/Halloween Craft Class:
Kids will be able to complete a fun craft project each week, including Fall & Halloween themed crafts. All necessary class materials are included.
- Total Six Weeks on Mondays: Sept 14, 21, 28, Oct 5, 12, 26 (No class Oct 19th)
- Age 6 to 8 years at 4:30 to 5:30 PM
- Age 9 to 12 years at 5:45 to 6:45 PM
- Fee is $60, Max 10 people per class
- Held at the Summit Center (165 S 700 E)
Robotics Class:
I Love Robots!! A hands-on class for building and playing with robots. Learn how robots evolved, how they work, and how to control them. All class materials are included.
- Ages 10 to 13
- 8 weeks total on Wednesdays – Sept 16th through Nov 4th
- 4:00-5:00 PM
- Cost is $85
- Max 10 participants per class
- Held at the Summit Center (165 S 700 E)
Rec1 Online Registration
Registration is online 24 hours a day and 7 days a week through the Rec1 system. Users must create a family account and log in to register. If you have difficulties with Rec1 online registration, please call the Rec office during regular business hours at (801) 489-2730. If you forget your password, please call and it can be reset. Please do not create multiple accounts to register your participant. Most registration problems can be solved quickly over the telephone. Recreation staff can help by phone, so coming to the office isn’t necessary unless you are paying with cash or a check.
